'Star Rating'

Each of our Holiday Cottages has been inspected by an Assessor sent on behalf of Visit England (the English Tourist Board), and been awarded a ‘Star Rating’.

The Star Rating given (1 to 5 Stars) reflects the quality of the cottage – its fixtures & fittings, facilities, furnishings, equipment & contents, and its cleanliness.

All of our Holiday Cottages in Saxmundham have achieved a ‘4-Star Self Catering’ Rating, reflecting the high standards throughout. They are all re-inspected each year to confirm that these high standards required have been maintained.

Our larger Holiday Cottages, ‘Corner Cottage’ and ‘Flint Cottage’ have also achieved ‘Gold Awards’.

Visit England’s ‘Gold Awards’ celebrate establishments that outperform in their Category. Those which offer exceptional Quality, Service and Hospitality.

‘Gold Awards’ are given to 4-Star and 5-Star Holiday Cottage to recognise establishments for their focus on Guest Experience.

These Awards help guests to find Holiday Cottages which are special places, whatever the size or style of the Holiday Cottage, where the host goes the extra mile.

Walkers Welcome Award

We actively welcome walkers at our Holiday Cottages in Saxmundham and provide extra items and/or facilities for them. For example, we provide shoe racks and outside boot-scrapers, Ordinance Survey maps & circular walk route-maps, binoculars and walking sticks. The Suffolk Heritage Coastal region provides some beautiful countryside and coastline for walkers – beaches, woodland, heaths and villages. Pets Welcome Award

We welcome small, clean, and well-behaved dogs at our Holiday Cottages in Saxmundham so beloved family pets can join you on your holiday. We provide extra items and/or facilities for them too – such as food & water bowls, toys, treats, poo bags, etc. Suffolk is a very dog-friendly County, with wonderful beaches and heaths to walk your dog – and they are welcome in most Suffolk pubs too. Cyclists Welcome Award

We welcome cyclists at our Holiday Cottages in Saxmundham and provide extra items and/or facilities for them. For example, we can provide a puncture repair kit, a bike cover, and Ordinance Survey maps. Suffolk’s gently undulating terrain make it ideal for cycling – for all ages and abilities. Families Welcome Award

We welcome well-behaved children at our Holiday Cottages in Saxmundham, and provide extra items and/or facilities for them. For example, we can provide a Travel Cot and/or a highchair for you – at no extra charge. And, baby bottle-warmers fit in the microwaves (we’ve checked!).
