Suffolk Coasts & Heaths (AONB)
An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

The whole area of coastline from the River Stour in the south to almost Kessingland and Lowestoft in the north – plus the estuaries, marshes and heaths inland from it – has been designated by the Government as an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ (AONB).

In the Suffolk Heritage Coastal region it encompasses Rendlesham Forest, near Woodbridge (on the River Deben); Walberswick, Southwold and the River Blyth; Aldeburgh, Snape and the River Alde; and RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich Heath – from where to see the magnificent flowering heather and stunning views across Sole Bay from the Coastguards Cottages on the clifftop.

Saxmundham is centrally located in this beautiful area, and from your base at our Holiday Cottages each part of the AONB will be easily accessible to you.

All Seasons Cottage Breaks are pleased to support the Conservation work carried out by the Wardens and teams of volunteers, who maintain the beautiful landscape for us to enjoy.

You can find out more about the Conservation projects which preserve and develop the habitat of numerous species of wildlife by visiting the Suffolk Coasts & Heaths website.

Sustainability – Conservation & Protecting the natural environment

‘Suffolk Coasts & Heaths – Connect’ and other organisations help to maintain what has been designated by the Government as an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ (ANOB) by undertaking admirable major conservation works across the Suffolk Heritage Coastal region – preserving the beauty of the area for us to now, and for generations to come.

All Seasons Cottage Breaks is a Member of ‘CONNECT’ – supporting the conservation work in the AONB Suffolk Coasts & Heaths area with annual cash donations and promoting their work.

You can help too, by adding a cash donation in the collection-boxes in each cottage. You can’t miss them – they are hand-crafted by the SC & H Wardens to look like bird-boxes and have the ‘CONNECT’ logo on the front.

Green Issues
In a rural economy ‘Green Issues’ are very important. It’s about preserving the beauty of the area and protecting its resources for us now, and for generations to come. Whether it be the admirable major conservation works done across the Suffolk Heritage Coastal region by Suffolk Coasts & Heaths and other organisations to maintain what has been designated by the Government as an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ (ANOB), or the domestic recycling efforts by our Housekeepers and our Holiday Cottage guests – it all helps.

We like to do our bit, even if it is in a small way. Our Holiday Cottages are insulated to the best possible standards, we use low-energy light bulbs throughout, our Mains Water is Metered, we buy in bulk to minimise packaging and reduce shopping trips, and we Recycle everything we can – paper & cardboard, plastics, glass, and green waste from the gardens. We encourage our Holiday Cottage guests to use the recycling facilities we provide, to shop locally, and to not drop litter while they are out and about enjoying the area – so you can do your bit too.
